Rising From the Last War Review, Part 2

Alright, we’re back! So last time we looked in depth at the character creation portions of the book and found them interesting but mostly updated versions of what’s in the Wayfinder’s Guide. That’s just the first third of the book, though. Today we’re going to be looking at the setting information and what it can offer to new and veteran players in Eberron.

Rising From the Last War Review, Part 1

I love the Eberron setting for D&D. I’ve gotten every official book put out since it debuted in 3e and I’ve bought a significant number of fan creations since it was opened up for the DM’s Guild. I’ve also written a ton about it here and on other sites… So clearly I’m excited about the latest book from Wizards giving official versions of the setting material for the game’s fifth edition.

Mummy & Vampire: The Asekh-sen

Mummy: The Curse is currently Kickstarting a second edition and I’m really excited about it. One of the best parts of this new version is the inclusion of mortal sorcerers and Immortals baked into the game itself. These seem like a natural extension of the core game experience and it reminded me of the Mummy campaign that I ran for which I created a ton of background info to pull in gamelines from across the World of Darkness. Invisible Sun’s Vances

It’s been a while (six months) since the last time I talked about Monte Cook Game’s Invisible Sun. At the time I talked about the high price, which is still a bit of a sticking point for me, as well as the complexity of the game materials. Now with some extra time I’ve been able to grasp it more and try out the game myself so I’m back to go in depth into the Orders of Invisible Sun, starting with the Vance!

STO Spaceframes: Federation Heavy and Tactical Escorts

I’m back today with more escorts for your Star Trek Adventures game, based on options in Star Trek Online. Today we cover some of the most iconic combat-oriented spaceframes in the game and these are some cool options for those of you who want to take a stand against the Borg or the Dominion. I also want to offer a special thanks to site fan Takeshi Yamato for all the advice and support in this project!

Shotguns & Sorcery Review, Part 1

Shotguns & Sorcery is an RPG of fantasy-noir using the Cypher System. This book has been delayed a bunch during its production so it’s not as groundbreaking as when it Kickstarted but now that we’ve got two editions of a generic Cypher System Rulebook it’s worth questioning what S&S offers.
