I’m going to call it: we’re living through an epidemic. Since the debut of Dungeons & Dragons 5e there have been several products adding advanced technology to your campaign. In the past year we’ve gotten Ultramodern5 and Hyperlanes and the Pathfinder world has responded with last spring’s Aethera Campaign Setting, the dystopian Hypercorps 2099, and the much-hyped Starfinder that just released. It’s starting to feel crowded!
He’s done it again.
Chris Dias published a modern-fantasy setting called Amethyst eight years ago and it really impressed me.Growing out of that came the adaptation of the D&D 4e ruleset called Ultramodern4 which offered classes and rules for playing modern and futuristic characters with the Fourth Edition rules. The understanding of the system and the innovation of the rules were awesome and now Chris has repeated this accomplishment with Ultramodern5.
