Settings with Canon

There are so many games out there inspired by ongoing series from A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying and Adventures in Middle-earth to Star Trek Adventures and Mouse Guard. This is actually one of my favorite types of RPG and the whole system roundtable is based around the idea of playing in a setting that already has an awesome story in it. The Expanse RPG Review, Part 2

We’re back today to wrap up our look at The Expanse RPG by Green Ronin. Last time I looked at character creation and what the game looked like compared to the Modern AGE RPG that it’s based on. The Expanse RPG Review, Part 1

Today I’m going to be talking about a product that I helped to Kickstart and finally got a chance to read through in earnest. The Expanse is an amazing story that I got into through the fantastic Amazon series, then followed up that first season by reading every one of the novels. It’s an awesome series and Green Ronin has really done a great job of making it into a game. Realistic Alien Ecosystems

So, I’ve been looking up a lot of science discussions about aliens for an upcoming project (you’ll see) and it’s a bit of a rabbit hole to say the least. There are countless examples of aliens out there from Star Trek’s various foreheads to the tongue-in-cheek aliens of Futurama. But for a hard sci-fi setting like Eclipse Phase that won’t work.
