Once again, I’m shamelessly stealing drawing inspiration from Little Mephling for some RPG outlet. We’ve been starting on the Redwall series by Brian Jacques, one of my favorite set of books from when I was little. It’s an enchanting story, an action-packed adventure, and a richly-built world with lots of different cultures and histories. Needless to say, it’s a goldmine in terms of roleplaying.

Numenera Destiny Review, Part 1

As I mentioned last time, the new Numenera core books are split into two separate volumes. If you want the newest and latest you can get Nuemenera Discovery (the one I covered last time) and keep going with the Numenera game you know and love. If you’d rather not get a new version of the game and/or you want to check out the expanded options then you’ll need Numenera Destiny. Today we’re starting a dive into that and, in contrast to the simple rules and straightforward intention, it’s going to take some time to get through everything!

Dinotopia RPG, Part 1

Over the holidays I got the last of James Gurney’s amazing books in the Dinotopia series. If you don’t know anything about this series, drop what you’re doing and go check it out now. It’s beautiful and imaginative and captivating and was a big part of my childhood. I’ve been thinking for a long while about how to adapt this to an RPG and this time, immersed again in the wonder of Gurney’s world, it all started to finally click.
